There's help in Dungeon Siege's case. The N.E.W.S.T Project has released a mod selector, a utility which will allow you to keep track of installed mods. Be aware that this first release is considered to be a public beta. Just check out the download section at N.E.W.S.T. The file is small. Only 244KB zipped.
