Yes, May 9th marks the one year anniversary of the closing of most of Ultima Online's volunteer programs. Misty Matonis, a former counselor, takes a look back at the day that forever affected Ultima Online in Stratics Central's latest MMOG Weekly Editorial. Here's a bit: Was the counselor program, or any volunteer program, worth it? Most of us will tell you "absolutely." The vast majority of us counselors, seers, elders and volunteer quality assurance staffers will tell you that there was no greater joy for us than assisting our community. We willingly gave our time and energies towards helping players, trying to make Britannia a better place for everyone. I think that if you took a poll you'd find the vast majority of former volunteers would do it all over again. I know I would.
