They introduce the new elements of the addon, and give a good overview of what to expect: All houses are pre-placed by the developers. This will prevent uncontrolled urban sprawl as well as players placing them in inconvenient or inappropriate locations. We were told that there are about 1,000 placed per server already, although the prices have not been made public. These will start to become available when Dark Majesty goes live later this month, but will be released in waves to allow more players the chance to purchase them. For this same reason, more housing will be released in further waves over time. The purchase prices will include not only currency but also specific items, which have recently been changed so beta testers will not already know them. Mansions will be expensive, the thinking being to encourage guilds and allegiances to work together to buy them. All houses will have a monthly maintenance fee, which will be shown to prospective buyers.
