The third Xenus Developer Diary has been published at ActionVault. Scriptwriter Alexander Khrytsky introduces the third of the blocs, the coca mafia:
In Xenus' world, the coca mafia is one of the most influential factions. The coca barons prefer to solve their problems by money and blackmail, not with force. Having experienced confrontation with every part of Colombian society for many years, they have studied and perfected many ways of avoiding head-on clashes and anxious situations. Cooperating, when it's advantageous, with guerrillas, they can easily betray their recent allies for the officials' indulgence. And then, when both groups have been weakened by the prolonged conflict, it's easier to dislodge them from the territory with hired "death squadrons", getting rid of both the guerrilla taxes and officials' persecutions. The Indians are suffering from the coca mafia too - refusing to work on the plantations, they take the risk of incurring the anger of new Escobars not only on themselves, but on their entire villages as well.
