We just received the following statement from Bethesda's PR Guru Pete Hines:

Bethesda Softworks today announced it is accepting applications to become a beta tester for Magic & Mayhem: The Art of Magic. Art of Magic is a unique blend of strategy, tactical combat, and role-playing brought to life with full 3D graphics and an epic storyline. As a wizard, you have the power to conjure terrifying creatures and devestating spells against your opponent.
Before each battle, you choose which spells you will bring with you, and then use the spells in real-time tactical combat against your opponent in single and multiplayer play.

Anyone interested in joining the U.S. beta test for Art of Magic is asked to send an e-mail to betatest@bethsoft.com that includes the following information: name, mailing address, telephone number, fax number, e-mail address, current occupation, system specs (including CPU, RAM, operating system, video card, and sound card), any titles you have tested previously, amount of time able to devote to testing per week, and why you want to beta test Art of Magic. This enrollment is only open to continental United States (no Alaska and Hawaii) residents age 18 and over. Beta testers should expect to test at least 10 hours a week.

For more information, visit the official Art of Magic Web site at http://aom.bethsoft.com. Art of Magic is scheduled for release in late September throughout North America by Bethesda Softworks. A demo is planned for release in August.
So, if you're living on continental America and are interested in the game, I suggest you fire an email immediately!
