TeamXbox's Rob Semsey posts up his primarily practical preview re BioWare's "Mass Effect"...
We’ve seen the decision process and path alterations in KotOR and Jade, but in Mass Effect things are taken far beyond anything we’ve seen before. It’s BioWare’s ambitious goal to have your actions shape the destiny of all life in the galaxy, thus the title. With AI at the point where it sees no reason for the existence of organic life, you are forced with raising humanity to the top of the food chain once again.
Mass Effect will feature a comprehensive and customizable player creation system as in BioWare’s previous games, but ultimately the focus will be consistent in that you will be the commander of starship exploring the outer realms. We aren’t talking a ship the size of the Ebon Hawke; this is a hulking ship with a full complement of crew. Getting back to character customization, expect to choose from various clothing, armor, and weaponry. We didn’t get to see any hint of the character creation interface, but BioWare did boast that it would be very intuitive and their deepest to date. |
