There is a review of Arcanum - Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura at a site called Corona. The author has mixed experiences with the game, with no specific rating given, but this conclusion:

Overall, Arcanum is a mixed bag. It has a lot of potential, tantalizingly so at times, but ultimately gets mired down in bugs and design flaws. I was waiting a long time for this one and did enjoy it to a certain degree, largely due to the compelling story and dialogue and the fabulous character system. Nevertheless, Arcanum is a flawed game that I can recommend only to those with a great deal of time, patience, and a good system to play it on.
