RPGvault has posted a very informative intelligence report of Tannhauser Gate's MMORPG Mimesis Online. It sums up the game's more or less unique features and how typical MMORPG/RPG elements are implemented.
Example given:
NPCs: The world of Mimesis will have numerous NPCs that fulfill a variety of roles. Some will be neutral while others will be more helpful to begin with, although their attitudes can be changed by players' actions. Among the sundry types of roles named to date are merchants, mechanics, teachers, bar staff, politicians, police, thieves, muggers, dealers and informers.
NPC Opponents: The developers have planned for a number of imaginative NPC adversaries. A few examples are the spider-like Arachne, Lava Vipers, the nocturnal Hidden and the mysterious Sentinels. Behaviors will differ; some will be aggressive, others passive, some will hunt in packs, others alone, etc.
