Gamespy has reviewed Arx Fatalis for the Xbox. Despite quite favourable text, the score is 3/5 stars. In fact, after re-reading the article about the only negative I could find was "First-person games and control pads will never quite fit; visuals are stylish, but rough." Ah yes, I do remember Halo getting marked down because it was first person now that I think of it.
Most importantly, Arx Fatalis allows an incredible amount of interaction with its subterranean environment. Just about everything you see, you can manipulate to at least a limited degree; throwing wooden items into fires, mixing herbs into magical concoctions, or grabbing leg-bones and clubbing monsters with them. (It's depressing that, a decade after Underworld, the seemingly simple design concept of a highly interactive game-world remains a rare delight instead of a commonality.)
