RPGVault has put up their 8th Q&A session bassed on Morrowind today, which is entitled "Graphics Engine & Features". The Q&A is one of the most interesting I read, since it asks questions that really haven't been asked before. Heres one of them:

Jonric: What kind of character animation system are you using, and why did you choose it? Did any of the game's characters or creatures pose particularly difficult or interesting challenges for the animators?

Todd Howard: NetImmerse has an excellent animation system. It's one of the best I've used. Most everything you can do in StudioMax exports "as is." The hardest part for us is the characters, because they are not a simple single mesh like you find in other games. They are broken into about 20 pieces to handle all the heads, hairs, clothing, armor, and weapons. They can also do many more animations than creatures. All characters share a common system for how the things they wear are drawn and such. A creature just does its own thing, so it's easier.

Be sure to check it out right here.
