Thanks to Garthilk from Okratas for letting us know that they have posted an interview with Sigil's Mike Butler, IT Manager and Lore Writer for 'Vanguard: Saga of Heroes'.
Mike, I clicked on one of those emails you told me I shouldn't click on! Mike, there's an infestation of level twelve paper trolls in the copier again and they're wreaking havoc with the sheet-feeder. Mike!! I think I broke the Internet again!

While no doubt the computer skills of the average Sigil employee are a cut above most people's coworkers, there's still little doubt that the job of IT Manager at a small business is a never-ending and often thankless job. Yet not only does Mike Butler manage to keep dozens of PCs running at peak-game performance, he also watches over the servers that host and run daily builds of Vanguard. And as if that's not a full enough plate, he also finds time to pen much of the website lore that has hundreds of fans slamming Sigil's site on Tuesday and Thursday.

Mike is clearly up to the task before him, of course. At Sony Online Entertainment he managed the infrastructure and staff that kept all of SOE's games up and running as close to 24/7 as humanly (or in Mike's case superhumanly) possible. After three years at Sony, he teamed up with Sigil to once again brave the uncharted world of clustered Xeon farms and load balancing to provide a next generation infrastructure for a next generation game. When not cleaning viruses and RMAing dead video cards, Mike is probably spending time with his family or immersing himself in a stack of paperbacks.
