If you are curious what the latest addition to UO is like, there is a review of UO: Lord Blackthorn's Revenge at Miss Match. The short article rates the game 8/10 and comes to this conclusion:
Ultima Online: Blackthorn’s Revenge is by all rights an excellent game if you like to RP and build up all the different characters you wish. The game is generally fun to play and easy to pick up although I would expect the hard core FPS players would get board of the game pretty quick. Also the game never really ends. As there is a constant supply of people to talk and interact with and events to do. I really do think that this is still THE best MMORPG game out there despite a lot of competition.

I would definitely advise you to buy the game if you dislike the 3D version (as I do) and wish to play in the new lands. It is fun to explore around and is worth the money you spend. Origin has been constantly working hard on this game for a long time with constant patches to improve the game with events and add-ons that make the game bigger and better. I only hope they keep supporting the game as they have been. I was very impressed with the technical response team as it only took around 30 minutes or so to respond to a problem. A game every RPG player should have I think!
