Gothic II will have a brand new copy protection which combines a host of single measures. JoWooD have been cooperating closely with Sony DACD to integrate the latest version of SecuROM which prevents copying as well as cloning of original ROMs.
In addition to SecuROM trigger functions, Gothic II will feature self-developed anti-piracy mechanisms which constantly check for the presence of an original CD. To sum it up - only an original game will work as it should. The new copy protection - the development of which seems to have been aimed specifically at the quite efficient German cracker scene - has been successfully tested with JoWooD's 'Der Industriegigant II' and 'Far West'.
