Long time no see - but now there is a new review of Wizardry 8 at Gamezilla. The score is "just" 78, and their summary shows us that they have some complaints about the game:
Wizardry 8 leaves me with mixed feelings. On one hand, it’s a game that has managed to produce eight iterations, and still hold a fan base. It enjoys pretty solid, engrossing gameplay and at times really shines with specific graphic and audio effects. On the other side, the game in many ways is an anachronism, with gameplay little changed from earlier versions of Wizardry, and marred by some truly awful 2D/3D renderings. When stacked up against some of the more excellent recent RPGs out there, Wizardry 8 comes up on the short end. Those of you who are hardcore enthusiasts of the genre as well as those “classic” gamers out there will enjoy Wizardry 8. In my opinion, it’s a great game and series, but in need of a major overhaul. No comment :-)
