There is a new Purge Review at DailyGame. Once again, it's not favorable at all, rating it 4/10:
While I understand that Purge isn’t meant to outdo the other high-end FPS on the market, it’s still not much of a game. Frankly, it feels like a hunk of shareware that someone found a publisher for and thought they could package and sell as a full commercial product.
The buggy nature of the product is also frustrating. On a brand new GeForce card, the game was unplayable due to graphical issues, yet it loaded fine on a lesser card. Crashes and lockups under Windows 2000 and XP were common and it doesn’t bode well for any title to already have a patch before the retail version has shipped.
If you’re looking for some budget-FPS action, I’d suggest you seek out a used copy of one of the earlier Quake titles, which all look and play better than Purge. If you really want to give Purge a try, be sure to download the demo first. |
