This trial version of Neocron will not be a simple rip from the current client, but will be an enhanced version of the game that comes with e.g. the long anticipated epic runs and a new newbie area which will offer a refreshing change to the sometimes tiring sewer rat and vermin bashing.

We also definitely want to avoid a situation, where new players think that the city of Neocron is all there is to experience, thus the new n00b area will be located outside the city of Neocron, in a secured area of the Wastelands. Once a new player has accomplished his first mission and levelling, he may teleport to his downtown apartment. There will also be some vehicles in that area, so new citizens will instantly get a slight impression of what awaits them, once they have raised their levels.

There will also be a couple of other small modifications and last but not least, we will release an updated online version of the Neocron manual. My personal kudos go out to JAG (you all know him from the boards) who has done a great job, working on that manual during past couple of months.

However, current players of Neocron won't need to download the new client, since the current version will of course be autopatched to that new version.
