8.0/10 is the final rating for Wizardry 8 in a review at GamingXpress. This one is very detailed and not so enthusiastic as most of the others we have seen. This is their conclusion regarding gameplay (where they seem to think that D.W. Bradley was involved in doing Wizardry 8 - he wasn't):

With all that, I'd have to say Wizardry 8's gameplay all in all is a very mixed bag. You have some good features, like the awesome character design system and the addictive levelling up, but you also have some dumb things and some serious problems like the combat movement mechanics. Most importantly, Wizardry 8 offers absolutely nothing new to the genre, fair enough considering that Mr. Bradley invented this genre, but this genre is getting old. All in all, I'd give it a three, no more no less.
