Three hours of sleep. That's not too much, even if one is used to living with 6 hours a day. The reason for this is that I was up most of the night to have a first look at Mars with my telescope, and during the wait for the red planet to appear above the roofs, I starhopped from cluster to variable, from doublestar to planetary nebula. Being the computer geek I am, my telescope is controlled by a notebook, so it's pretty nice to see this thing slewing from target to target without having to bother with finding elusive sights under light polluted skies :-).
Internally, we have a discussion going on about how we treat the news posting between RPGDot and MMORPGDot (the latter is loading much, much faster now, thanks to our ingenious Myrthos). This isn't a new discussion, really, from the beginning we have two "factions", one proposing that RPGDot should drop MMORPG related news all together, one thinking that the site should carry important MMORPG news nevertheless. Underlying is a discussion about how the structure of the network is to be seen. It's a rather philosophical discussion, but once a consensus is reached, it will have implications on the look and presentation of our sites.
Personally, I enjoy these discussions tremendously. First of all, it is interesting to see how many different opinions people can have. Each side has some very valid points to make, and although I am firmly seated in one of the two factions, the thoughts of the "other side" are nothing you can simply pass. Second, it shows that our network is very much alive, and that those involved in maintaining and expanding it really care for what they do. I couldn't feel more comfortable with how things are going here, and I'll take this positive feeling into my vacations tomorrow. I will be gone for two weeks, with no internet access at all, so I can take a much needed break from the daily routine. But needless to say I am looking forward to returning again and accompany RPGDot into its fifth year.
Until then, I wish you pleasant gaming experiences, and much fun with our sites. Please take the time to check out the network - you'll find it a worthwhile roundtrip.
See ya later.
