Neverwinter Nights: Gone Gold Rumors

The Neverwinter Vault reports that major US retailer EB Games is listing Neverwinter Nights as being 'Gold' status, i.e. the final copy has supposedly shipped for duplication. A reader e-mail seems to support these rumors. Official statements have not yet been made though. EB Games says the game is going to ship to customers on June 18 and Infogrames Germany's latest release list is talking about June 27. We will -as always- just have to wait and see.

Update: Just found a few official statements. They do, of course, not confirm the rumors but Brad Grier does interestingly enough only apologize for not having *announced* gold yet ;)
Brad Grier - Communications Manager - (in response to a Neverwinter Vault inquiry):

Hey Maximus...yeah, we saw that. Sorry, we've not announced Gold yet. Trust me, when we do, you'll be among the first to know. We may have something soon.

    Urza (BioWare Moderator):

If you believe Ebworld, then you also believe that the toolset and adventure module were exculsive to Neverwinter Nights and you can't get it from GameStop (Babbages) or BestBuy.

If you want to discuss the release of NWN please do so in the sticky.

Ebworld is using the best information they have available to sell copies of the game. Ebworld believes NWN will release soon, so it's only logical that they can say the NWN is gold.

    Tom Ohle (BioWare Communications Associate):

At this point, we're not sure where EB got their information--when the game goes gold, you will see an official announcement on the BioWare website, issued by Infogrames and BioWare.
