A score of 4/5 is the result of PC Gaming's 'SpellForce' review.Spellforce though seems to be that rare thing: a combo that works. The game combines real-time strategy with hands-on role-playing in a way that brings out the best of both. The game begins as evil is up to its usual tricks. The world’s most powerful mages have been mucking about with magic and have almost destroyed the entire planet. Massive armies have ruined much of what’s left and all that remains are a number of islands connected to each other through magic portals (handy, although they don’t give air miles). Now the bad guys are back and hoping to finish the job. Fortunately, a prophecy tells of an immortal human who will one day build armies, unite the races and beat back the ugly nasties. No guessing who that is. |
