EQ Vault has posted Ask SOE #3 with Steve 'Moorgard' Danuser answering reader questions about EQ2:Lepidus: One of the main points of speculation is the class system. We know that there will be 48 classes, spread over 5 archetypes. Could you give us a brief overview of one never before revealed class?
Moorgard: One class within the Scout archetype is called Predator. As the name implies, Predators are hunters, stalkers of prey. They use the abilities inherent to all classes within the Scout archetype-tracking their target, searching for and disarming traps, silently scouting ahead for enemy forces-to aid their party. They also do opportunistic damage to the big, bad monster while it's being distracted by a burly tank.
Predators can ultimately become one of two sub-classes: Ranger or Assassin. While the implications of the Assassin are fairly straightforward, don't let the familiarity of the title "Ranger" fool you. The Ranger in EQ2 bears far more resemblance to how the class has been portrayed in fantasy literature than it does to the druid/warrior hybrid from the original EverQuest. |
