Here's a tech bit:GameSpy: Some of the monsters we've seen, like the Dragon, are visually stunning! What technologies are you using to make the larger monsters intricately detailed and effectively animated?
AC Team: The art team here at Turbine takes full advantage of our amazing graphics engine. We are able to draw thousands of polys per monster and multipass each character with all kinds of effects. Per pixel bump, specular, and gloss maps and are just a few multipass effects you can expect on everything in the game. All of our artists take great pride in the highly detailed models, textures, setup, and animation that we create. Every character in the world has a seamless mesh and our blended animation system keeps our monsters and avatars moving smoothly throughout the world. |
