IGN previews Morrowind

A new preview of Morrowind has been published at IGN. It is based on the build that has been released to the gaming press. Here's a bit:
First things first. Because Morrowind set such high expectations for the look it would present, it might not have impressed me quite as much as it would have otherwise. But regardless, the game is very pretty. Environments are very natural looking with plenty of curves in the rocks and trees and plenty of foliage to go around. Even though Mr. Nuts likes to say the water effects are "stock", they still look damn good. Walking and swimming through water in third person mode is pretty fun as the water ripples where you move and reacts fairly realistically. Environments and surroundings reflect off of the water bringing it and the world around it to life.

The game runs with time and weather cycles so you'll see the sun move across the sky and be replaced by the moon and the stars. As the sun goes down, the world takes a whole new perspective when the rusty sunset blankets your surroundings. It's neat to walk into a cavern in the afternoon and then walk out when it's raining and dark outside.
