Duplex Systems reported this week that they have resolved a major server-side lag issue. With this fix in place they will now be able to conduct a major stress test beginning tomorrow.
We are proud to inform you that we found the cause for the majority of ping timeouts today and fixed it with the latest server patch. This might not be the end of all pain, but from what we can see now 95% of the ping timeouts seem to be gone. During the last 4 hours we have measured 10 ping timeouts. These were not caused by the server, but either by bad connections or lag on the player's end.
We also like to inform you of stress tests planned for the coming weekend, from Saturday to Sunday (11th-12th of February). We will try to find out the maximum of concurrent users per gameserver in the cluster. For this we will only open 3 gameserver applications for login and see how far we can push it.
The second test will be to find out the maximum of concurrent users per world. During the weekend, for a certain period of time we will only open one or two worlds, most likely Brooklyn and DeMorgan's Castle.
We are looking forward to these tests, since we will be able to tell how far we can scale one server cluster for release.
We hope for your understanding and will see you all at the weekend.
