The company came to fame (and quite likely also fortune) through its first MMORPG, 'Asheron's Call' which was a great success in the US. 'Asheron's Call II' failed to meet expectations but Turbine returned stronger than ever when it announced at the E3 2003 that it is developing 'Dungeons & Dragons Online' for Atari and 'Middle Earth Online' for Vivendi Universal.
