Boomtown has posted a review of Elemental's 'Space Rangers 2'. The text sounds pleasantly surprised and the score is 8/10 - here's a snip:
What’s that? You never heard of Space Rangers before now? Well here it is in a nutshell: imagine Elite and Pirates combined, executed in glorious old-school turn-based top-down 2D. Then throw in the atmosphere from Master of Orion 2 and other 4X-games, add a real-time 3D strategy part, a 2D action shoot ‘em up part, and even a text-based adventure part. Shake it up, serve it, and say goodbye to a sizeable chunk of your life. Playing Space Rangers is akin to having a wonderful new drink at the bar, and then realizing that even though it tastes so different, it’s made entirely from ingredients you’re already familiar with. Yet it’s still one bloody good drink.
