IGN PC has posted up their own impressions on the third phase of testing on Fighting Legends. The preview has many pieces of information including story, interface, death in-game, and even a table of classes and clans. Heres a snippet:

These squads are the point of the game, really. In fact, without squad support, you'll not last long. In a way this approach kind of reminds me of Sacrifice. You call into being the various squad members (by expending various resources that you'll collect through the game). They'll follow you around in one of a handful of formations. As certain members of the squad advance you have the opportunity to promote them to heroes. Heroes become immortal (like the player characters of Fighting Legends).

Here's the tricky part, when your immortal Fighting Legends character dies of natural causes (which he or she is sure to do), you can assume the role of one of your heroes and continue to lead the squad with the hero as your new player character (all this has to be arranged beforeahand). It is possible to gain squad members from other clans by trading or questing so if you start out in the M-Clan, there's no reason why you can't work up a pretty diverse group of support units.

Check it all out right here.
