If there's one thing that the team at ArenaNet wants to impress upon you regarding Guild Wars: Factions, it's that it's not an expansion pack. Normally, we're trained to approach assertions like this one with an arched brow, but there's actually some truth to it in this situation. Think of Guild Wars as a collectible card game. The first installment (which is called Guild Wars: Prophecies internally) was the "starter set," which established all the basic rules that would govern future installments. ArenaNet is planning to release installments every six months, with Factions, slated for release April 28th, being the first. (There's a second installment currently in the works, which, if you do the math, you can expect near the holidays.)
