...well, no, it's honestly quite disappointing for PC gamers. Blizzard's latest project is called "Starcraft: Ghost", a 3D tactical action game and it is apparently being developed for "next gen consoles", an attribute claimed by Playstation 2, X-Box and GameCube all at the same time. The game is currently being developed in cooperation with Nihilistic Software. An article dealing with the matter can supposedly be found right here at IGN. We are not able to open that site at the moment due to "Too many requests". Wish you more luck.
A big wet one goes out to Chris "Metal" Johnson from VoodooExtreme for being the one who managed to overcome the traffic barrier and being the 1st one to spread the word.
Here's Chris' quote from IGN:Although it appears to be console-only, one aspect that we're sure everyone is wondering about is will the game be online, and of course so did we. "We are trying to focus on creating a really solid game with a strong storyline," said Bill. "We know that online is kind of the cool, new thing for consoles, so we're kind of investigating what our online plans are. We haven't really made a decision exactly one way or the other, or even what we would do necessarily." Luckily, even if the game isn't online for the consoles, it at least sounds like the team has a few multiplayer modes in the works. As Bill explained, "I think that one thing Halo got a lot of acclaim for was its multiplayer, and we've always very much enjoyed creating multiplayer experiences. So I'm sure that in some way there will be a multiplayer element, but how much of that is online or online-only really remains yet to be seen."
