With EA moving OSI headquarters to the west coast, I figured it was a good time to revisit Origins official website and set our spotlight on it. To my surprise the slumbering website had already been updated twice this year and, along the usual blurb, shows the UXO boxcover in a format I hadn't seen anywhere else yet. Somehow I expected the site to disappear one day, because EA had incorporated OSI and the site would be useless. Maybe it is useless, but that doesn’t mean it will disappear. Why should it. As long as UO and UXO will run, or Ultima is a profitable label in any other way, there is a good chance that the division working on it will still be named Origin and the website will be maintained. As Origin has been a part of EA for over 10 years now, and they still create worlds (and apparently will continue to do so) imho declaring OSI dead -as had been done quite often lately- is only half the truth. They sure have changed and the OSI that created Ultima 7 is long gone. So OSI is dead... Long live OSI.
This is the 15th instalment of the UltimaDot Site Spotlight series. This series is dedicated to the Ultima websites. We don’t set our spotlight necessarily to a new or recently updated site, just one we think is worth visiting, especially if you haven't been there before.
