HomeLan conducted an interview with Troika's Tim Cain to talk about their upcoming RPG Greyhawk - The Temple of Elemental Evil (this must be the place where I work *g*). Here's a bit:
HomeLAN - How are quests handled in the game and what kinds of quests can we expect to see?
Tim Cain - Quests come in two types, main storyline quests and side quests. The player has to perform the main storyline quests, although how he handles them can vary depending on his skills. Some quests can be solved with the right dialog skills, while others will require some combat or perhaps some trickery. There are many factions in the game that can be played against each other, if they player is careful. Not every situation should be solved by brute force. The side quests are optional. These run the gamut from helping local villagers with their problems to trying to infiltrate the inner order of the Temple itself. Side quests provide a nice way to gain extra experience points and treasure without necessarily resorting to combat. |
