Thanks to GameMethod for pointing out a review they have online of Blizzard's 'World of Warcraft'. The score is 87/100 and of particular note is the author - fantasy artist Doug Shuler (lead artist for 'Magic: The Gathering' cards among other stuff). Here's the intro:
For the last ten years, Blizzard Entertainment has risen among PC developers through their remarkable ability to create games based upon one single premise: fun. Attractive art, stable code, and humorous undertones had all been expertly mixed with strategic gameplay elements to create some of the most lasting strategy titles, namely the Warcraft series. When Blizzard announced a fourth title in the Warcraft series, it was shocking to learn that the world of Azeroth would be taken away from the comfortable real-time strategy genre and into the increasingly crowded online space. Despite doubts that World of Warcraft would struggle as a first time entry in a competitive genre, Blizzard has delivered one of the finest massively multiplayer experiences currently available.
