Baldur's Gate 2 - Throne of Bhaal: 10/10 points |
There are some really memorable moments in this game. For example, you meet and help a newbie adventuring party and realize how powerful you have really become. In another sequence you play a game where you guide a character through a monster-infested maze, similar to an oldschool text-adventure (only with graphics). Amazing fun! |
Diablo 2: 8/10 points |
This game has amazing character development possibilities, at least as far as statistics and special abilities go. If you are looking for a game where you also get to develop your characters personality, look elsewhere. Fun, but shallow. |
Dungeon Siege: 8/10 points |
This is a very slick and polished game. Great graphics, but the gameplay is almost too automized; in battles, it pretty much runs by itself, without player intervention. Since most of the game consists of battles, you can feel a little detached. The possibilites for mods are amazing, though, and will insure that this game stays on my hard drive for a long time. |
Heretic 2: 9/10 points |
This is still (in may 2002) the best thirdperson action game I've ever played. Although Jedi Knight II (also from Raven Software) comes pretty close. Not many RPG elements in here, though. |
