Now this is sweet...check out GameSpy's write-up on Fable as part of their Annual E3 2004 Awards...
When Peter Molyneux promised that Fable would be "the greatest RPG ever," he caught a lot of flak from gamers the world over. While the jury is still out on how great the game will be, most people can agree that it's probably the most ambitious game ever. You create a player, then control him over the course of his life, making choices that can affect his future. What makes this different from games like KotOR, in which you make choices based on a set of options, is that you can make whatever choices you'd like. Don't feel like fighting? Get married, open a shop, have kids, and grow old with them. Most players probably want a little more action, though, so they can attack women, burn down villages, and scare kids. Hmmm, maybe this will be the greatest RPG ever.
