A review of the Gold Edition of 'Dark Age of Camelot' is online at Gamers Europe. There's no score but the article has plenty of reservations, so here's the summary:
It would be very easy for me to brand this franchise as dead from the playing experience I have had. However as I keep saying if you have the time to play this (you may have to quit your job or drop out of social existence) then there is a damn good game to be found lurking beneath this drab exterior. The game comes with one month’s subscription free, after which you’ll need to give credit card details for the monthly fee. For me there was no reason to do this as I can’t warrant the expense to play a game I might only want to play a few hours here and there. I can’t help but wonder if new players will also feel the same when there are now newer titles of superior quality to found. So if you can pull the sword from the stone Dark Age of Camelot can give you a full and rewarding virtual life, the rest of us though will just be left strained and exasperated.
