The second part of the Allegiance Teaching Stone at AC Insider deals with ranks and tributes. Here's what the yhave to say about giving and taking tribute:
If you recruit vassals of your own and become a patron (or start your own Allegiance and become a monarch), there are limits on how much XP you can receive from your vassals and when you receive it. As you advance toward your next level, you cannot apply more than a third of your vassals' "tribute" towards your next level. Any amount of tribute beyond this percentage is lost until you level up again.
As a vassal earns XP, a proportional amount equal to 25% of the earned experience is stored temporarily in an "XP pool." Once the amount of experience in that pool passes a certain threshold, it is passed on to the patron. (The threshold depends on the vassal character's level.) In other words, when the pool is full, it's passed up to the patron. If the patron isn't eligible for any of her vassals' XP at that time, the experience points are discarded. If the patron also has a patron, then one-tenth of the vassal's XP goes into a pool for the patron's patron. |
