Well, must be one of the headlines that does not seem to make sense at first but let's shed some light on the issue and you'll see what I mean :) .
Back in October 2001, developer Ikarion filed for bankruptcy. In December, they shut down the official Armalion website and proclaimed themselves dead.
However, Ikarion continued operations on low level and kept looking for a publisher for Armalion. Armalion was roughly 75% finished when Ikarion was forced to shut down.
On June 14 (two days ago), Ikarion's former forum admin noXQs posted some news to the forums where the Armalion community gathered after the official Armalion forums had closed down.
noXQs said that the Armalion development team is still working on a game. It's not Armalion though. They were forced to rename Armalion and to scratch all references to the 'Realms of Arkania' (DSA) universe from the game. The new title is not an RPG and also not an RPG/strategy hybrid like Armalion used to be. The new game will most likely be categorized as an "action RPG". The graphics and several characters will be taken from Armalion. The rest is all new.
The new game does not have a title yet and it has also not been officially announced yet. At the same time, Ikarion is still in negotiations about its future. The company might be able to continue operations under a new name.
