It has been some little time since I last perused the premium (in my humble opinion, that is) Freelancer modsite aka "Lancer's Reactor" - just as it is immediately obvious from all the Server/Pilot/Project and General news that activity in modding and/or enhancing Freelancer is still very much an ongoing affair. Of special note for this report are two items:

(1) Chris Cookson has generously released his GMAX Plugins and Scripts for use throughout the Freelancer modding community (High Five, btw, Chris:-)

(2) And then Mod Engineer "Black Eagle" has unveiled a huge mod entitled "The Monkeys V1.18" - which is both Single-Player and Multi-Player Freelancer compatible...

The main aim of this mod is not to change the entire Freelancer universe, but to add some parts to the game to make it more interesting.
I also changed some of the original features to make the game more challenging. As I wanted to keep the original Freelancer feeling I tried to add things that really fit in the Freelancer universe. However these are my personal ideas of a "better" Freelancer and you may not like them.

A small hint: I added several new sounds and music to the game (For example in the Robot System the terminator theme). But unfortunately the music is not very loud and it is not possible to increase the loudness (then the quality of the music would get bad).
So, if you want to hear it even if you fight, just go to the options menu of Freelancer and decrease the other sound effects, leaving the music at max. loudness. So you only need to turn up your speakers and you will here the music clearly and in good quality.
