The staff over at IGN unveiled their latest "Rampage Part I" - consisting of mini reviews of Xbox RPG games; among the titles discussed include Fable, Sudeki, and - the main interest for this newsbit - Jade Empire (BTW - the only game with which the staff at IGN could find no fault with)...
Why you'll love it: Chinese Mythology + Bioware + Wuxia + Raiden-like mini-games = Pure gaming bliss. BioWare knows how to make an RPG and this time around they are using the next generation of a proven engine. Part of the joy of KOTOR was seeing some familiar locales and races and how they were used in the game world, but Jade Empire offers nothing familiar outside of standard heroic archetypes. This game should offer more wonders and surprises at every turn as the entire world will be a discovery for gamers.
Cause for concern: You got us. Seriously. We could make something up if it would make you feel better, but quite honestly, we can't see any reason why this game won't live up to its potential. I suppose our only real concern is that the BioWare team is filled with notorious perfectionists and Jade Empire could eventually get delayed into holiday 2005. That would be a horror for RPG fans everywhere.
