GameSpy's "Gamer's Choice Awards" Announced

The staff over at GameSpy have announced their "Gamer's Choice Awards" - basically the best in each platform (i.e. Xbox, PS2, PC, etc)...

The final votes have been tallied. More than 30,000 gamers cast their ballots since voting began Dec. 3 and we finally have clear-cut winners. No hanging chads here. The closest race came in the PC adventure and PC strategy categories where #1 and #2 were separated by only a few hundred votes. Many of the other categories had blowout winners. Fans kept on voting right up until we closed the polls at noon on 12/20.

On the following pages, we'll break down the percentage of the vote for the top 10 games in each category. We also culled the best quotes from the forums on why gamers chose to vote the way they did. We tried to pick the most elegant commentary, but then most gamers can't talk without throwing in a few "r0X0rs," "teh sux" or "pwned." Those limitations aside, some of you did get your point across in a way that spoke to us -- or at least spoke to shaithis, who took the time (amid curses) to pull the best comments.

Sad to say - of the games the RPGDot family reports on - the only winners/runnerups were literally in the PC RPG/MMORPG category - with World of Warcraft as the undisputed winner, and VtM: Bloodlines/City of Heroes/EverQuest 2 as first/second/third runnerups; and in the Xbox category - where Fable came in as first runnerup, and Star Wars Kotor II: The Sith Lords came in as third runnerup.
