Episode 8 of the interactive lore stories The Spellborn Scrolls, is available at the official Chronicles of Spellborn site. Entitled "The Silent Child", this episode is the third part in "The Guard's Tale" cycle.
The troposphere around Quarterstone is filled with arriving and departing shardships. They travel through the Deadspell Storm near the capitol of the Enclave like a colony of bees swarming protectively near their hive. Among the rock debris that floats on the tide of the Hexflow - the current that runs through the Deadspell - a totally unremarkable shardship completes its orbit around Quarterstone. To a casual observer the shardship would look like any other; there would be no reason to assume that this particular vessel has completed several thousand consecutive rotations around Quarterstone. But it has, and of course it is by no means an ordinary shardship. It is called “Silent Child”, and it is the mobile headquarters of the Marksmen, an elite group of headhunters and slayers who are, officially, a part of the Quarterstone Guard. Unofficially, the Marksmen play in an entirely different league than the City Miltia (who are also a part of the Quarterstone Guard), and they operate almost entirely unsupervised. The Champion Master of Quarterstone rarely checks what they are doing; the lords and ladies of the Five High Houses have no idea how powerful they are; the City Militia and its cadre of officers largely ignore them, while the general public doesn’t know they exist.
