I love the controls and the concept, and the gameplay. But the single player game left a bit to be desired. It was fun as heck, but was too chaotic. The multiplayer is a blast, we used to play this on our lunch hours at work. |

semi-decent but repetitive game, put 5 hours into it, and decided I had wasted 5 hours of my time.
Felt a bit like a retarded version of Populous.
If you're into Tamagotchi and other repetitive silly artificial pet type games you may enjoy this.
Don't pay more than $20 for this game new, it's debatably worth $20, but personally I'd save my twenty. |

Urgh. Absolutely terrible. Aren't games supposed to be fun? Your people are like lemmings, leave them alone for a little while and the population will decrease dramaticaly. They are just to stupid to do anything on their own. You just don't feel like a god if you have to micromanage everything. It's interesting for a day or two, but than it gets tedious. And why is this game listed here? It's not an RPG! |

Interesting that this game would be in an RPG category. It does have a great story to guide you along and it has truer character development than any stat based game ever because you have to train a savage beast into a tamed sophisticated magic wielding quasi-human. Maybe this is the future of RPGs when computers are poweful enough? Nevermind boring stats and numbers when computers can simulate AI. :-) I give the game ten stars because so it's so damn original. In this age of sequels, expansions and repeats of the same old tired genre, this is one PC game that stands out above the rest. |

All I can say is I agree fully with Jacko's review, except that I cannot bring myself to give *maximum* marks for originality alone.

Great graphic engine and neat AI tricks. It got me hooked for 2 weeks, but once you start understanding how the AI develops it becomes a really boring and tedious. And to top it off the bugs in the game made me really sore.
If it actually had RPG elements it might get a 2. |

It made loads of techincal advancements but its not really a testiment to the single player experience.
Syndicate was quality though - everything he did at Bullfrog - being off topic but his next game is a genuine rpg and looks promising. |

I think most of the people that gave low scores thought about it as an RPG and were dissapointed. This in fact is a real time strategy(construc buildings, give orders to people, administer your resources,...) game with some really neat features. It doesn't get a 10 because of some bugs and the campaign was a little too short. |

Only gave it a 10 becuase it doesnt deserve a 5.5! Its a good game with shitloads of glitchs, but a good game none the less. Inovative, unique, and fun don't even begin to describe it. (btw I'd actually give it an 8) |

This is an RTS. To actually play this game felt like a chore to me, but I will go half way since I enjoyed throwing large boulders, crushing people's homes, smashing and throwing people into the water. Smaking the monkey around and forcing it to eat members of the population was fun. Of course, that would only last for an hour before I had to turn it off. |

Very unusual RPG. Yes, I think it is one, as you have to choose the path of your avatar. A great but small 3D world. However, I found no fun playing this game, except the first 10 hours maybe. A try, which will have to be converted. PS: I did not try the multi-player mode. |

True, great graphics for its time and some nice ideas. But the game play reminds me of playing a dull tamagotchi. Stopped playing right in the middle. |
