A score of 86% is the result of Next Level Gaming's 'Gothic II' review.
Easily an underappreciated RPG, Gothic possessed a rich world, interesting advancement system and tons of characters to interact with. Unfortunately, its combat and control system turned a lot of gamers off, and minor things like a lack of a in-game map made exploration frustrating. The story was quirky but very interesting. If you were able to look past the control issues, this hybrid RPG had one tale to tell. You were a prisoner sealed in the mine valley of Khorinis, kept imprisoned by a magical barrier. As a shunned convict in the world, through the course of your adventures you forged friendships, made allies became stronger in a quest to vanquish evil (what else) and destroy the magical barrier.
