Good morning and welcome :-). An interview with Casey Hudson and Mike Gallo has been published at Star Wars Knights. They are talking about Knights of the Old Republic, of course:
CR: It seems the number of planets was cut down from 10; why did that happen? What other features did you have to cut in the end?
Mike Gallo: Well, there are some things that naturally get “removed” from the game during development and as the design is refined. We’ve been referring to the number of worlds rather than planets, with a game world being defined as a unique location that you can visit and have a significant gameplay experience. With that definition in mind, we have 9 worlds for the players to visit. We haven’t revealed all of the worlds yet, and we’re not planning to until the game launches – we have to keep some of it a secret!
Casey: I think it’s also interesting to note that in the final stages of development, we haven’t had to cut any major features, which is actually quite rare. I think it’s a great indicator of the commitment to quality on the part of both BioWare and LucasArts. Everyone involved seems to be giving the game every opportunity to reach its full potential. |
