PC.IGN has kicked up a Titan Quest Creature Feature that looks at the critters in the second Act, set in Egypt:
Egypt, the second act of Titan Quest, features a vast number of monsters that thrive in the hot desert sun, lurk in the ruined temples and crypts, and hunt for their prey in the marshes along the papyrus filled Nile. The most common creature you'll find in Egypt is the Jackalman. The Pharoahs of Egypt had long prayed to the jackal-god Anubis. The Egyptian god of the dead is represented as a black jackal with the body of man. For our version of the jackal, we decided to show more of the animalistic side of this creature. Like the Satyrs in Greece, we have soldier jackals and jackal mages. These vicious fighters are nomadic. The scavengers' tents are constructed from torn awnings and posts and built into the sand dunes. The jackal soldiers move in packs and are equipped with more sophisticated weapons and armor than their Greek counterparts. Jackal mages are a powerful foe and usually are adorned with gem encrusted Egyptian armor, staves, and jewelry. The Jackal mages are masters with fire enchantments and volcanic orb spells and support their soldiers with healing spells. The Jackal armies have moved throughout Egypt, destroying the villages and conquering temples. Jackal camps can be found just outside the walls of many cities. Do not under estimate the cunning nature of the Jackal army.
