Another Grimoire site update happened today. Here's what it says:
There are 14 monsters left out of 112 unique animations and we have found a pretty good system to complete them all with. We model them first in either Blender or Poser and then render them out as cartoon 2D frames at the right dimensions. We then go over them with our AceCad tablet and clean them up, detail them and recolor them so they look like graphic hand 2D artwork and not rendered images.

It is a great method, timesaving, productive and the results speak for themselves. I may be working on this basis with Jarrod and if he assists me, I figure the monsters will be done within two weeks for certain. So far, the witch, night moth, earwhiggs and swamp leech have turned out great using this system.

If we can get the monsters and characters finished, it is going to give me more confidence than I've had in three years that the beta is imminent. I will feel very secure sending out the beta version and letting testing begin if those primary graphics are present.
Grimoire is a shareware CRPG, longer in production than Duke Nukem Forever.
