SB Warcry has posted an interview with Colin Du Pré, chief infrastructure architect of En-Tranz Entertainment - they will publish Shadowbane in the pacific region. Here's a bit:
J.: How did En-Tranz come about? When did that all start?
Colin Du Pré: En-Tranz Entertainment is the brainchild of former Gathering of Developer's President and Co-Founder Harry Miller, created under the premise of publishing fully localized high-quality MMORPG titles in the Asian Market. Harry saw a void in Asian market and En-Tranz was created to fill it. Myself, Harry, and some others arrived around Summer of last year but the concept had its inception well before that time. Things were in full swing by late 2001.
J.: At what point did you personally become involved with Shadowbane?
Colin: I became involved with Shadowbane shortly after it was licensed by Gathering of Developers for the US market. As Gathering's Director of Technology my responsibility was to design and oversee the implementation of the network, systems and billing infrastructure, as well manage the engineering team, required to support a world class MMORPG such as Shadowbane. When Take 2 Interactive and Wolfpack publishing agreement dissolved, and after Harry parted ways with Take 2, Harry shifted his focus on the growing Asian MMO market and started En-Tranz, taking several Godgames personnel with him (including me). |
