RPGDot Game Rating Machine

Brian has rated the following games:

Age of Wonders II: The Wizard's Throne: 10/10 points

great strategy game

Arcanum - Of Steamworks and Magick Obscura: 9/10 points

Arcanum is simply the best RPG you're going to find out there until Morrowind and NWN come out, period! It's only real flaw is (and it is significant) is that it is terribly Buggy. But nothing compares to it, except for it's predecessors Baldur's Gate and Fallout.

Asheron's Call: 9/10 points

Black & White: 8/10 points

I love the controls and the concept, and the gameplay. But the single player game left a bit to be desired. It was fun as heck, but was too chaotic. The multiplayer is a blast, we used to play this on our lunch hours at work.

Dark Age of Camelot: 7/10 points

It's got some bumps, but the developers are doing a great job working on it, and it's more refined than EQ.

Darkstone: 10/10 points

So what if it was a diablo rip off. It does what diablo failed to do in so many ways. Its one of the only games I played all the way through and more than once.

Entomorph - Plague of the Darkfall: 10/10 points

I loved this game

EverQuest - Shadows of Luclin: 7/10 points

Great ideas and implimentation, now if they'd only finish it, it might be even better. I think this is EQ's best expansion.

Exile 2: Crystal Souls: 10/10 points

I could care less about GFX. Sure I do like the fancy bells and whistles but when there is a great story and good combat system then a game really shines as with this masterpiece. definatly worth it to try this game from the spider. And speaking of spiders I love those talking spiders.

Fallout - A Post Nuclear Adventure: 9/10 points

Heroes of Might & Magic 4: 5/10 points

Im a heroes fan from the first but it gets boring. Compared to age of wonders it really doesnt shine as it did when I played the first heroes. all those thousands of monsters. who needs them and who feeds them for that matter. Its still enjoyable but only for a few days.

Jagged Alliance 2: 10/10 points

Ten times better than JA1. I LOVED this game. One of THE best and defiantly THE best in its genre.

Lands of Lore 1 - The Throne Of Chaos: 10/10 points

LOVED IT LOVED IT LOVED IT. For the time it was THE BEST and was the first game for me that everyone talked. with Patrick steward as the king was the icing on the cake. The combat system was great for the time and the story well it was the normal kill the foozle type but still all the characters and creatures kept the game great. ONE of my all time favorites. Ranks right up there with ultima 6 and bards tale as classics

Lineage - The Bloodpledge: 4/10 points

I don't get it. It sounds like a great idea, but the graphics and implimentation are so lacking. It's way old school.

Moebius 2 - Windwalker: 8/10 points

back on my commador before street fighter there was Moebius and life was good. with a sorta RPG meets street fighter and you can fight with stick or hand, trying to save the land. was a grand time for all.

Neverwinter Nights: 9/10 points

Planescape: Torment: 10/10 points

I wasn't that into the game in the begining, but after I found the woman to make me a mage and the story kept unfolding I became addicted to it. It is definatly better than baldurs gate (which I think is an outstanding game in its own right) but this has so much depth and character. I found myself staying up later and later just to find out a little more about this guys past and why he was cursed.

Pool of Radiance: 7/10 points

Gold Box games were the best. They were all the same except for the story, but were a blast.

Pool of Radiance - Ruins of Myth Drannor: 7/10 points

I liked it. once the patch was installed it turned out to be not that bad. Sure the interface is a little odd but so was gothic, just needed to get used to it. It did need a speed booster for the combat though.

Quest for Glory 1 - So You Want to be a Hero?: 10/10 points

I loved this game when it first came out as hero's quest. The first puzzle like game to put in fighting. Many a night I lost track of time and ended up playing till the sun came up and had to go to school in 2 hours.

Starflight 2: 10/10 points

Excellent

Ultima 3 - Exodus: 9/10 points

Ah, the mispent days of my youth. I played this game for months! I loved it.

Ultima 7 - The Black Gate: 7/10 points

I did like this game, however I love ultima 6 more because of the turn based combat system. With the real time I never got as hooked on this game as I did with the previous ultima's. Although the story and freedom did make an enjoyable game.

Wasteland: 10/10 points

Back in the day, this was the game. Period. Wasteland had so much! A great story, in depth character development, cool violence (well if you liked reading about it, which was the best it got back then!) Wonderful!

Wasteland: 10/10 points

Wizards & Warriors - Quest for the Mavin Sword: 7/10 points

Very good game, but yes, very very buggy. The story is quite good, but the way it goes about telling it is lacking. However, I like the way it has narration, kinda like playing in a table top, pen & paper rpg. Very cool.

Wizards & Warriors - Quest for the Mavin Sword: 2/10 points

comment

Worlds of Ultima 2 - Martian Dreams: 10/10 points

Loved it and anyone who thinks this gem doesn't cut it by today's standards needs to rethink what makes a great RPG.
