Today's special at RPGVault is an interview with Eric Wang from the Earth and Beyond team about this upcoming space MMORPG. Since the game is about the future, we'll snip two questions about exactly the same thing *g*:

Jonric: What are the major changes and advances you see happening within the persistent online world category over the next year or two?

Eric Wang: Over the next few years, we are going to see some huge licenses enter the persistent online world genre. Those licenses are going to draw a huge number of new people to the unique gaming experience that online worlds deliver.

Jonric: And how clear is your crystal ball looking beyond that, say forward five years or so?

Eric Wang: Wow that's a tough one. I think over the next five years, we will see online worlds that cover all of the settings that exist in today's standalone games. We will see sports, first person shooters, and real-time strategy offerings. Another big change over the next five years will be the emergence of online worlds that are played on game consoles.
