Great story - Just as good as the first. Slightly rushed at the end, but the rest of the game makes up for it.

Kotor2 @ his best... just can't get enough of that dancer's outfit ;-)

simply stunning and a worthy sequel to the original. Slight bugs and a slightly rushed/incomplete plot just knock this game off the complete 10 points. Buy this game now!

Kraszu has rated 9/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Kraszu)

It is not perfect becose of too easy combat and rushed end, but the word is not so black&white like in 1st kotor. Imo sequell is much beter.

Jenya has rated 8/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Jenya)

Not reaching Kotor 1... but still a game to remember

Elric has rated 8/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from Elric)

A fantastic game for a crpg player... but poor storyline compared to the first game. altough it is good, it doesnt make you shock like the kotor1.

I've just finished playing KOTOR 2 for the xth hundredth time and I felt, since I'd come across this review, that I'd make a couple of observations that the reviewer had left out as well as to put in my own perspective on the game. I found the game on the whole to be worthwhile and it definately has playability, hence I've played it so much lately, to the point where I've applied No CD patches to both games (I do own the CDs, before anyone asks - I find CD changing a bore) in order to speed things up. The gameplay itself is fun without getting too tiresome and the actualy content of the quests, both main and side, are usually linked to the point that you can actually fulfil all quests in a specific pattern, once you're actually familiar with the game. However, I have several issues of my own, some of which were mentioned earlier in the main review. The obvious one is the game crashes which, on the PC version, are quite frequent, even wth the most recent patches and drivers. The autosave feature is a saving grace, but I feel if more control on how often the autosave actually 'saved', then the game itself would be far more addictive. Another, and perhaps, more important issue is the lack of continuity. By that, I don't mean the game itself, while not lacking in a steady storyline, there are elements of the game missing and, after researching this on various websites, I find I'm not the only one. A perfect example of this, without going into too much detail, is the HK-47/HK50 storyline and anyone who's actually played the game should know exactly what I'm talking about. There are several inconsistancies in the game in that regard and, dispite my going everywhere and doing everything, I still find myself with the ol' reliable '?' in the Jedi Powers/Feats with the label 'Some powers cannot be learned by conventional means'. Dispite these fallbacks, the game itself loses nothing and the adaptability to your various styles, not only in Jedi Class and Prestige Classes, but also with Armor upgradability and, of course, the old faithful Lightsaber customisability, dispite the length of time it takes to actually get a the item, makes the game a fun long term project to go back and keep digging. Influence is also an added bonus as some elements of the game will not open up without the right level (again, for those who've played the game, I offer up Visas 'I want to see you' routine towards the back end of the game). Overall, the game get's only 7/10 because of it's instability and it's missing components. If the game were to be completed and, perhaps, open ended, perhaps with an online multiplayer offering to keep your Jedi going and, more importantly, provide that extra 'Well, ok, so we saved the universe - now all we get is the credits?' overstep. As with many games, the ending these days doesn't seem to justify the whole hardness of the game. Perhaps an additional expansion from Lucas Arts, maybe to keep the search going for Revan and tie the two games together would be an awesome offering and would be a great incentive to keep playing. Releasing additional worlds would also be fantastic and, instead of relying on player modding, Lucas-Arts could take that initiative. In conclusion, it's a great game, worth the investment and should be taken for what it is - an excellant engine running a wonderful game with plenty of life. The potential is endless and all it takes is a visit to Holowan Labs to see that. Lucas Arts could offer more, but it's a complete package in itself.

Oh, ecce me! (as my Latin teacher used to say). What a disappointment, I loved KOTOR and couldn't wait for this but it's clear that the developer was in such a rush to meet it's release deadlines they had to drop what was a really promising game half way through. It was supposed to be longer than KOTOR but it took me less than 10 hours to complete - including almost all the side quests. The ending was pants, beyond pants in fact - it just stopped no explanation, nothing - maybe they're angling for a sequel but it had better be better than this. The graphics and general game play were almost untouched from the original and due to dire AI, almost every "Boss" style enemy can be beaten by hiding slightly behind a pillar and then grenaded and or "force"d to death. Bleah!

This game is bad ass,not only do you get to live out you fantisy as a Jedi But now you can actual be a Sith and presude good guys to join you on your path to greatness.

gargar has rated 9/10 points (Click here to see more Reviews from gargar)

you poor souls can't comprehend the greatness of this game, it's not kotor 1. not a withe/black game, it's a gray game. the greatness does not come from within the story like in kotor 1, it comes from within the morality the game bestows upon you. it's a game for the thinking player.

Its one of the nest games ive played and has wonderful replay value. The only real flaw I see is that after some events will close off areas in the game for good and I dont like being blocked off from places ive been to. Oh and for those who think that the game needs to be open ended and they feel its to rushed you have to understand: they can only pack in so much game. At one point there gonna run out of space and for some people who only play it once or twice you never experience everything in the game and the so many other smaller paths you can take. The game needed to be rushed because of all the space being used in all the different choices. And dont depend on the autosave system eather just save often thats what I do I save once every 5 minutes or before an important event that I might lose. And if the game is to easy for you then set it at hard duh.

If you enjoyed the first KOTOR, you will also dig this game, but it's nowhere near the classic the first KOTOR game was. It seems the developers were forced to finish this game by an Xmas deadline because the storyline sometimes feel rushed. I even read that there was a whole new planet they had planned on putting in the game but didn't have time to complete. It keeps the same basic gameplay engine of the first game, but also inserts several clever improvements. You can now breakdown useless inventory to build your own devices, the henchmen system is vastly improved even if the new henchmen aren't as interesting as the last KOTOR. You are now allowed to turn your henchmen into Jedis if they appear force sensitive as long as you pick the right chat options, and believe me, it's not easy to figure out they want to hear. You'll probably end up going to a website like GameFAQs if you truly want to open the force track for all your henchmen. The sequel does not require you to play the first game, and that's one of my biggest complaints. The first KOTOR had such a cool story that I was eager to complete it in the second game but alas, I guess we have to wait until the third KOTOR to finish the Darth Revan storyline. Some of the henchmen in KOTOR 1 make cameos in KOTOR 2, but that's really it. The sequel tries to provide its own "Sixth Sense ending" like the first game but it's lame. ESPECIALLY the final conversation. That's where you realize that without a doubt they had to rush this game. I'll let you discover the downer of an ending yourself to see what I mean by that. Continuing a weakness in the first game, KOTOR 2 is too easy in the ending, and the bosses are pushovers. All that tension built up for a quick easy victory. Meh. After writing all this, I'm surprised I give it an 8/10, but for all the negatives, it still does give you a little of the KOTOR 1 magic, just not nearly as much. Low replay value.
